In the $100 million "Ambassadori Island Batumi" project, which includes the infrastructural development of two peninsulas and one island on 84 hectares, a $40 million foreign investment has already been made. Additionally, two independent investors are currently involved in the project. This was discussed by the General Director of the project's managing company, Gocha Kamkia, in an interview on BMG TV's "Business Week" program.

He notes that "Ambassadori Group" is one of the largest corporations in Georgia, capable of implementing large-scale projects, including through partnerships with attracted investors.

"Therefore, in relation to this project, the group views the issue of investment through a historical lens, emphasizing that first and foremost, we need to create opportunities and an environment where successful or success-driven individuals can come together, and on this island, everyone will find their own success story.

As for the individual investors, in this case, we took responsibility upon ourselves and started the development of the first multifunctional building. The project documentation is completed, and the preparatory phase for the construction work has already begun.

However, it should be noted that we already have individual investors for two large land plots. Specifically, these plots are allocated, and in the near future, large buildings with distinctive concepts will begin development on the cadastral units.

It should also be noted that during this period, we managed to attract international attention to the project. Today, a $40 million direct foreign investment has been made in "Ambassadori Island Batumi," which I believe is a phenomenal result at the initial stage of the project. "Ambassadori Group" is a trusted entity, which has completed some of the largest and most distinctive projects in Georgia," says Gocha Kamkia.

The author and host of "Business Week" asked the General Director of "Ambassadori Island Batumi" – what does it mean to invest in a large-scale project alongside the project executor?

"If we are talking about our capabilities, this was a subject of individual inspiration. Therefore, along with the opportunity for investors to develop a successful project, there are also common rules that everyone must consider in order to create a unified, harmonious project. In order for the Island to stand out historically and architecturally, it must last for centuries. We signed a contract with the British company 'Arup,' under which the island's architecture will be designed according to architectural DNA. Thus, just as 'Ambassadori Group' has set its own rules and guidelines for how to proceed in terms of development, each investor will also have standards outlined by the master plan and its author company, ensuring the highest quality of the developed projects. This will allow us to create an environment that is completely community-oriented. On one hand, the project is distinctive from an economic perspective, but large economic opportunities bring significant responsibilities to society. Since this must be a community-focused environment, we decided to act according to these rules from the very beginning," explained Gocha Kamkia.

A large-scale project for two peninsulas and one island in Batumi was announced in 2021, and its construction officially began in 2022. The main investor and implementer of the project became "Ambassadori Group," with which the government signed an investment agreement. According to the agreement, the development of two peninsulas and an island on a 84-hectare area in Batumi is planned, with subsequent infrastructure development. As part of the "Ambassadori Island Batumi" project, the area will feature beaches, active and passive recreation areas, promenades, and a seaside boulevard. Additionally, the construction of water parks, a yacht club, educational institutions, shopping centers, hotels, and residential buildings is planned. It is also important to note that the proposed concept has other significant implications, including the attraction of large-scale investments.
